The French Open Roland Garros Tennis Tournament |
|
| The Roland-Garros tennis tournament in the spring is the world mecca of ground tennis, it is one of the key ATP competitions with Flushing Meadows, Wimbledon and Melbourne. It was here that great players such as Borg, Graf, Wilander, Lendl, Kuerten and Nadal made their debut and here that spectators experienced some of the most exciting and spectacular matches in tennis history. Clay courts slow the ball down and produce a high bounce when compared to grass and synthetic courts. As such, over the years, clay court specialists have evolved who often succeed here whilst higher ranked players may struggle. Fourteen-time major-champion Pete Sampras and current World No. 1 Roger Federer have won every other Grand Slam tournament several times, but never the French Open. One of the highly selective foursome of Grand Slam tournaments... | |

We want Miles
A course into the personal and musical journey of Miles Davis |
|
| With the support of Mile Davis Properties, the Cite de la Musique Paris invites you to relive the musical journey of Miles Davis, a composer and trumpeter of genius. In 1981, Miles Davis broke years of retirement with the album The Man with the Horn. Shortly afterwards, he confirmed his come-back with a live album: We Want Miles, which underlined how long-awaited his return had been by the public. As a tribute to the expectations that the public had of him throughout his career, this exhibition takes the title of this emblematic come-back album. The exhibition recounts the artist’s life (1926-1991), from his birth-town of St Louis to the retrospective concert he gave at La Villette in Paris a few weeks before his death. This is no trivial moment since it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the “Kind of Blue” album and the 60th anniversary of his first appearance in Paris at the Salle Pleyel ! | |

Alain Bernardin founded the Crazy Horse Saloon in 1951, drawing creative inspiration from american striptease. An institution for night owls, the Crazy Horse Saloon retained all of the glamour which characterised it during its heyday. Its evolution following the trends of times has always been focused on women. Luxurious, the Crazy Horse Saloon presents unique, sensual and elegant choreographies. |
